CWC is a grassroots group of Windsor voters/taxpayers interested in town and education services and their associated finances. It was formed on October 1, 2015 and is a registered organization with the Town of Windsor, Connecticut following the guidelines of the State Elections Enforcement Commission. CWC is not affiliated with any political party. We are a political action committee network with a strict focus on improving the quality of Windsor elected officials, fiscal responsibility and increasing the number of awakened citizens seeking transparency on how taxpayer dollars are being spent. From time to time, we may advocate for particular positions, individual candidates, or a slate of candidates of any political party up for local votes in a Town Meeting, Referendum, or Municipal Election.
This organization was formed as a result of the Fiscal Year 2015-16 budget adoption
process which required five referendum votes. The Town Council was not sufficiently responsive to
the vote results or the feedback received from voters. Some residents offered public comment feedback
on the budget only to be met with disrespect by partisan elected officials. The prolonged budget
adoption process pointed to a need for an organization of voters, separate from any political party affiliation,
to affect meaningful positive change to the town government and school administrative process in an
environment of limited resources.
